Preliminary Written Examination

Exam Pattern :

JPSC Civil Service Pre Exam Pattern is as follows :

  • The written test will be multiple choice objective type.
  •  There will be two composite papers of 200 marks each.
  •  Both paper will consist of 100 questions, each of 2 marks.
  •  The time duration will be 02:00 hours (120 minutes) for each paper.
  •  The question papers will be set both in Hindi and English.

  •  The Main exam will be descriptive (conventional) type.
  •  The Main Examination shall consist of six compulsory papers, common to all candidates.
  •  The time duration will be 03:00 hours (180 minutes) for each paper.

Exam Syllabus :

JPSC Civil Services Mains Exam Syllabus is as follows :

Paper-I:

General Hindi & General English, having two separate sections on (i) General Hindi, and (ii) General English, each of 50 marks.

Paper-II:

Language and Literature: Under this paper, every candidate will have to opt for one Language and Literature out of fifteen listed by the Commission.

Paper-III:

Social Sciences, having two distinct sections on (i) History (ii) Geography, each of equal weightage.

Paper-IV:

Indian Constitution & Polity, Public Administration & Good Governance.

Paper-V:

Indian Economy, Globalization and Sustainable Development.

Paper-VI:

General Sciences, Environment & Technology Development.
